Dear RST Fans,

First, I want to thank you all for following this blog for all these years! RST has been a journey and a joy for me. It would not be that way if it weren't for all of you.

This decision hasn't been easy and took a lot of thought, but I ultimately decided to take a break from RST for a few months. I have other projects that require my attention and I want to spend time serving the community in different ways. You can expect to find me participating in the Notheast CAC and attending city council meetings in 2016.

I will still be tweeting specials and events, so please follow @RalSpecials if you aren't already doing so! If you have any questions, please shoot me an email.

Make Plans Monday - NYE Edition

This Thursday is the main the event, THE party night of the year! what will you be doing? Here are a few parties going on:

C. Grace - Celebrate the New Year at C. Grace! Enjoy entertainment by Peter Lamb and the Wolves, cocktail fare and a champagne toast. The cost is $25 per person or $40 per couple. Tickets must be purchased in advance!

The Oxford - The Oxford has 2 chances to celebrate!  Come early for The Cocktail Party from 6 PM - 9 PM. This $20 ticket gives you access to the dining area for hors d'ouevres and also the late night party. The Late Night Party starts at 9 PM and features music by The Wild Obsession. Tickets to both parties are available now.

Five Star - Get your dance on! Five Star hosts a New Year's Eve Party withe help of Full House Collective!  There will be 4 DJs and a free champagne toast at midnight. Advance tickets are $10 and there are VIP options available.

Tennessee Jed EP Preview Party

Get a signed, pre-release copy of Tennessee Jed's new EP Stronger at The Pour House tonight! Emma Dream will also be performing. The doors open at 8 PM and the show starts at 9 PM. No cover!

3rd Annual Kings Dog Show

Attention doggie fans! Kings will host their 3rd annual Dog Show tonight at 8 PM. Dogs will be judged on dogsonality,life story, appearance and one trick. There's an $8 cover and proceeds will go the SPCA!

Open on Christmas

If you are looking for a place to hang after holiday shenanigans, the following Raleigh spots are open:

The Borough - Open regular hours
O'Malley's - The bar opens at 5 PM, kitchen will be closed, but customers are welcome to bring a covered dish to share
Deep South - Open for the 5th Annual Funky Christmas - Doors open at 7 PM
Coglin's - Opens at 8 PM
Alchemy - Dance party starts at 9 PM

Need to cut loose after sending time with the fam? Coglin's will be open tonight AND tomorrow at 8 PM. Enjoy egg nog while you dance the night away to your favorite 80's and 90's tunes!

Run Clubs and Beer

You're going to be eating a lot over the next couple days. Get your fitness on with Bottle Revolution's Run Club. Be there at 6:15 and enjoy draft specials after the run.

Raleigh Brewing Company also has a run club that leaves at 6:30 PM. There will be beer and a food truck waiting for you when you get back.

Local music and drink specials

Head to Ruby Deluxe tonight for local music and drink specials. Lovers for Lunatics will play 2-hour set of original music. starting at 9 PM. Drink specials include $4 Fernet and $5 Whiskey and beer combo. Members enter free, but you can buy a membership at the door for $10.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party - Is it really Christmas without an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party? If you haven't been to one yet, here's your opportunity! Don your ugliest sweater and head to Bottle Revolution 3 on Tuesday, December 22nd at 5 PM, Drink beers until that sweater looks awesome or make some last minute gift purchases for the beer-lover in your life. The party starts at 5 PM!

Terrapin Reserve Draft Party - Terrapin will be releasing beers from their Reserve Draft Series at Tasty Beverage on Tuesday, December 22nd at 5:30 PM. I can't wait to try the Tiramisu-hoo!

Holiday Wine Tasting - Head to Taylor's Wine Shop on Wednesday, December 23rd at 6:30 PM for a FREE holiday wine tasting! Find a last minute gift for the wine-liver in your life!

Holi-day Party at North Street Beer Station

Grab a beer, listen to some tunes and do some last minute holiday shopping at North Street Beer Station's Holi-Day Party! Doors open at noon and the music starts at 1 PM. Local vendors will be setting up shop, so it's the perfect place to find a unique gift.
