It's Kirby Derby Day!

One of my very favorite Raleigh events is happening today. The Kirby Derby is part block-party and part soapbox derby in the awesome Kirby-Bilyeu neighborhood (near Dorothea Dix). There is always a theme - last year's was "The Future Is Now" - upon which people build costumes and parade floats. For the 10th annual event, this year's is "A Decade of Derby," so any past theme can serve as inspiration! BYOB, but Klausie's Pizza and Penalty Box Dogs will be there if you get hungry. So pack a cooler, leash up your pups, and come watch some homemade soapbox cars attempt a 90-degree, downhill turn!
