Still hurricane partying? Never fear! Brand-new restaurant and bar Joel Lane's Public House is ready for you. This weekend only, they've got $4 Irene shots to ease the hurricane pain. I've also heard some pretty great things about their French Dip if you're feeling peckish, and the kitchen stays open late. Historical Note: in 1792, North Carolina purchased 1,000 acres of land from Joel Lane so that they could establish the new state capital here in Wake County! The story goes that Mr. Lane schmoozed the commissioners with homemade whiskey in the original Isaac Hunter's tavern, so don't talk real estate while drinking over at Joel Lane's Pub!
