It's the most wonderful time of the year: Raleigh Beer Week! We'll keep you up-to-date on events all week, but there are a few things going on that you may want to plan ahead for. Thursday's New Belgium tasting at the Daily Planet Cafe looks pretty sweet - four beers paired with four local dishes plus a live-skype with New Belgium brewer Lauren Salazar from 7:00 to 9:00. Pick up tickets for $20 at Rocky Top Hospitality's site. Tonight's event at Foundation is themed around beer cocktails, and given their mixology expertise, it promises to be amazing. Head over there at 6:00 to catch it.

And don't despair if beer's not your thing - Gravy is hosting a Farmhouse Dinner on Wednesday with five courses for $30 per person, and you can order whatever you want to drink! The menu sounds delish:

First course
Lyons Farms fried green tomatoes layered with Ashe County cheddar pimento cheese, Sunny Creek Farms micro celery salad

Second course
Old Bay-seasoned, fresh N.C. shrimp with Mae Farms house-smoked bacon, Lyons Farms Shoe Peg corn, heirloom tomato and butter bean succotash, Carolina Gold heirloom rice

Third Course
Plant Haven Farms bib lettuce with heirloom tomato, Old Mill grit crouton, grilled N.C. sweet onions, shaved Chapel Hill Creamery Hickory Grove cheese and Maple View Farms buttermilk dressing

Fourth course
“Mr. Buzz” N.C. honey and house-made hot sauce-battered Ashley Farms fried chicken, Cottle Farms butternut squash and Faucette Farms sage dumplings in Spain Farms shiitake mushroom chicken broth

Fifth course
N.C. peach cobbler with Maple View Farms butter pecan ice cream

Call 919.896.8513 or email info@gravyraleigh.com to make your reservation for this special, local, and artisanal meal. (Don't use OpenTable for this.) Dinner is at 6:30.
